2009// INGLEBURN LIBRARY, PUBLIC ART COMMISSION

WARNING CONTAINS IMAGES OF ABORIGINAL PERSONS THAT HAVE PASSED AWAY.

In 2009 I was commissioned by Campbelltown City Council to produce a series of images to adorn the walls of Ingleburns' brand new library. The longest wall was 30m long and around 5m high. I proposed three video artworks to be made and a series of photographs were taken documenting the lives of the people in the Ingleburn community. One of the women I interviewed was the late Dr Ruby Langford Ginibi, a writer and an avid campaigner for Aboriginal deaths in custody. We produced the first video but then she wanted us to add a poem at the end which we did.
